THE SHIELD OF LONGEVITY

THE SHIELD OF LONGEVITY

Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up one morning and read the headlines ----DISEASE HAS BEEN ERADICATED FROM THE PLANET EARTH, AND MAN HAS FOUND A WAY TO STOP THE AGING PROCESS?   For a substantial price, humans can now receive an invisible shield that protects the body from disease and stops the aging process for an additional period of up to 25 to 50 years.  This is man’s long time answer to “the forever young pill.”

For centuries humans have sought to find “the fountain of youth,” and the SHIELD OF LONGEVITY is the first step in this process. But as expected, there is a secret to this discovery and that is, it is very expensive.  The estimated cost of the SHIELD is somewhere between 5 to 10 million US dollars. Even with this extreme cost, one of the greatest desires of most humans is the love of life, and when the end comes, if available, they would purchase more.

It is hard to imagine a world that is free from disease and aging, but it is a definite fact that for those who can afford it, the article goes on to say, “THE SHIELD OF LONGEVITY is available.” It has always been expected that the desire to become the richest man on the planet would one day drive someone to discover a process to eliminate aging.  Humans have always had an attraction with youth, and with this discovery, humans can now, from a keypad worn on the wrist, select the age they want to be and add a substantial number of years to living on the planet.

However, it is sad but true the land of eternal youth is only in the dreams for the middle-class working Americans. A capitalistic economy has always been designed to benefit the wealthy, and the shield of longevity is just another spoke in the wheel of separation between the HAVES and the HAVE NOTS.

But let’s not fool ourselves, one of the great wonders of life is the ability to dream, and if we are going to dream why place limitations on dreams? In our finite and physical place on the planet, at least, we can dream of a world where things are the way they should be.

We can argue with FATHER TIME, but at this period in history, time is not for sale.  But wouldn’t it be great if one day that futuristic dream did come true and longevity could be purchased? Let’s not forget that with the human brain the possibilities are limitless and things that seem impossible can become possible.

Man has already reached intellectual heights that are beyond our wildest dreams, and there is no reason to doubt that those extreme inventions will not continue. Man has already added 3 to 5 years to life expectancy, and to add another 20 may come quicker than we think. But in so doing we must remember the price tag, and know that in the hands of the present day pharmaceuticals, it will be out of reach for the average working-class Americans.
