WHERE THERE IS SMOKE
The Mueller Report has given Republicans much to brag
about, and it has also given Democrats much crow to eat, including myself. I
made predictions about the Mueller Report that apparently were wrong, and I
will eat my share of the crow, apologize, and move on. I have learned a valuable lesson in this, and
that is, I will be very careful about making political predictions in the
future.
I will however, give myself some credit. I entitled
the Op-ED, “OUT ON A LIMB,” for a purpose.
The title meant exactly what it said. I was going out on a limb to make
predictions about the Mueller Report.
Regardless of all this, the Trump administration has given
much crow for many to eat. For example, the pollsters reports before the 2016
presidential election.
But before Republicans do too much dancing in the
streets, I would like to state a few facts, ask some questions, and hope for
answers.
(FACT) William
Barr was the Attorney General in the George H.W. Bush administration. (1991-1993)
(FACT) It was
reported that William Barr concealed materials that helped protect both Ronald
Reagan and George H.W. Bush in the Iran-Contra scandal.
(FACT) William
Barr was given the title of “the cover-up” attorney.
(FACT) William Barr, the United States Attorney
General, is a Republican.
(FACT) William
Barr was appointed by a Republican President and approved by a Republican
majority Senate.
(FACT) William
Barr gave a written opinion of the Mueller Report before he became the Attorney
General.
(STATEMENT) If the Mueller Report completely
exonerates the President, as the Attorney General has stated, then without one
moment of hesitation, it should be released to the public.
(STATEMENT) The
Attorney General should be anxious and happy to release this wonderful, glowing,
report for everyone to see.
And now there are some questions I would like to ask
and invite any Republican who would like step up to the plate and provide answers.
(QUESTION) Why
are there so many secrets that surround Donald Trump and his administration?
(QUESTION) Why does Donald Trump refuse to release his
tax returns?
(QUESTION) Why
did Jay Sekulow, Trump’s attorney, say on TV, they will not release the President’s
written answers to the questions asked by the Special Counsel?
(QUESTION) Why did Donald Trump demand a private meeting
with Vladimir Putin and ask the translator to destroy the notes?
(QUESTION) Why has
McConnell blocked the move to make the Mueller Report public?
(STATEMENT) WHERE
THERE IS THIS MUCH SMOKE, THERE MUST BE MORE THAN JUST A FEW SMOTHERING EMBERS.
(SUMMARY)
Recent reporting suggests that my predictions may not be as wrong as it
first appeared.
(Waiting for the full Mueller Report)
(To be continued)
